Friday Family Date

After the weekend comes the dreadful Monday. Tuesday is a follow-up, but it feels slighty better. Wednesday is where things are changing and one look forward to the rest of the week. Thursday is like a mini weekend as we have lunch date with Yvonne in Gennevilliers. And, finally, Friday comes and we can all look forward to family time and for me some help during the day.

Fridays are also special as we have our “Friday Date” in the 17th arrondissement. Up to now it is by far our favorite area in Paris. It is shabby, it is haute coutore, it is upscale, it is hipsterish, bohemish, it is brutal: it is just an area of Paris where you find everything. The arrondissment is everchanging depending on where you go.

Our favorite area and where we return every time is Batignolles. When waiting for Mum to come back from work, me and Nathan have a go at the manége (carousell). Every park with a certain size seems to have carouselles and it is a childs dream and sometimes a parents nightmare.

On Fridays we visit  our bakery, where we have “chocolate au pain” and “torsade”. Not only is it cheap, but one of the guys, Hugo, working there has taken Nathan to his heart. Almost every time we go there he gives Nathan a macaron and a chupachup. Unfortunately, for Nathan, Mom loves the chocolate macarons so there is not much left for him, when she had a bite of it. (But really mommy doesn´t take that big of a bite..)

Fridays are great for all of us. For Yvonne who can look forward to the weekend after a long week at work. For Nathan because he gets plenty of time with us all. For me because I can look forward to some alone time. But, the best thing is that we always make sure that it is a great start for the coming days. We cannot spend much, but we make sure that we treat ourselves on this lovely day of the week.
